---+ Ambar Skin

A simple but fully functional blue-hued skin - suitable for beginners as well as stalwarts. This skin provides many features to improve productivity while obscuring the less used features/areas.

Some of the ideas were collected from several other skins, looking for the best in each - GnuSkin, <noautolinks>TigerSkin</noautolinks> and KoalaSkin to name a few.

Features include -

   * Side Menu that is customizable
   * Option for direct save without going through preview
   * Convenient action menus at top and bottom of page
   * Clean, uncluttered look which new users can immediately warm up to
   * Icons for action menus (borrowed from KoalaSkin)
   * Convenient "Find" and "Go" boxes
   * CSS for controlling menu/link styles
   * Access-keys for action links in template

---++ Installation

*Note:* You do not need to install anything on the browser to use this skin. The following instructions are for the administrator who installs the skin on the server where TWiki is running.

   * Download the ZIP file from the Skin Home page (see below)
   * Unzip ==%TOPIC%.zip== in your twiki installation directory
   * Test if installed: %SCRIPTURL%/view%SCRIPTSUFFIX%/%WEB%/%TOPIC%?skin=ambar
   * For skin activation see %TWIKIWEB%.TWikiSkins

Once the skin is installed, it picks up the side-menu from the topic "Web<nop>Menu" in the current web. Note that the entire Web<nop>Menu topic is included in the side bar to form the menu - this behaviour differs from other Skins such as the GnuSkin, where Web<nop>Menu is used to describe the menu by defining variables in this topic. The present approach has the advantage of flexibility in controlling the content/look of the side-menu by the user (the default look is standardized from a css) and not requiring rendering scripts. The WEB title in the top bar is picked up from %<nop>WEBDESC% variable - this needs to be defined in the WebPreferences topic for each web.
